From the point of view of your family (especially the younger members), where you live is HUGE, and detailed, and familiar, but the outside world starts off vague and hardly real.
All these perspectives make sense, depending on the moment and the context. Go with what is sweet and peaceful and feels safe and good.

Beautiful words, Sandra, and so true!
ReplyDeleteAfter having lived for almost fifty years near North Pole, Alaska, relocating to the Mojave Desert was a choice, but still an upheaval. We had initially planned to retain our Alaska home, plus two parcels of land we had there as well, but our lives changed with family ailments. We (husband, self, our three sons, and a daughter-in-law) are all here now. Our youngest son and his wife bought a home that I sold them just a half-mile from ours.
Creating our cozy space here, despite no longer having a wood burning stove, is in many ways similar to our old home. We haven’t got forty acres anymore, either. Still, our third of an acre is becoming its own little desert haven for us, and we do occasionally receive a few inches of snow, which melt in a day.
I’m glad you liked this photo of our spectacular sky the other night. ☺️
