"The easy way out"

In response to someone who had written, in 2003, that she had thought about unschooling, but maybe just because she was looking for an easy way out. A couple of responses from that day:

"Unschooling is not "the easy way out," it's the joyful way IN. The way into peaceful family life, happy children and meaningful learning that lasts a lifetime."
                   —Ren Allen

"Unschooling isn't easy. It's full time. What it takes is a change of belief and priorities. Lots have done it, and I'm sure you can too."

  1. Your blog is the first thing I read in the morning! It starts my day out with great perspective on why I unschool. I started unschooling 2 of my 6 kids about 3 years ago and now I have all of my kids ages 17-4 at home with me.:) There are always negative opinions about our choice to unschool but when people meet my children, there is no denying how interested and interesting they all are. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us and providing a huge support network for all of us unschoolers!~ :)

'' » ~ Sandra Dodd
