Holly grew up with two older also-unschooled brothers.
Thank you, all who have befriended
and been kind to Holly.

Good things build up gradually into great things. Bad things erode faith and trust. |
The same life can be seen from many different angles.
The same situation can be seen while holding one's breath
and being furious,
or while seeing the alternatives
and finding ways to be grateful,
no matter how small,
because on one small bit of gratitude,
one can step up and see another one,
and another.
If you're going the wrong direction, don't keep going. |
Unfold upward and outward. Expand one connection at a time. Laugh when you can. |
Unschooling takes more,
more presence,
more guidance,
more attention,
more mindfulness,
more connection,
more thinking and questioning,
more choices and better choices.
Learning is internal. Teachers are lovely assistants at best, and detrimental at worst. "Teaching" is just presentation of material. It doesn't create learning. |

Where parenting is concerned, logic can be short-circuited by emotion or culture (or both).
Don't do things that don't make sense.
